Parking

The nearest long – term car park is at Union Road CT14 6EA. Disabled spaces are available.

Parking for up to 2hrs is available at the Town Hall car park CT14 6TR (only 9 bays)

Free parking is available on Beach Street CT14 6HY

There is a bike rack at the front of St. George’s Church nearby.

Buses & Trains

Deal Station (CT14 6HD) is a five minute walk from the museum.  

All buses stop at South Street which is a six minute walk away.  

Bus no. 12 runs direct to/from Canterbury via Whitfield. 

Opening Times

We are open from 1st April (or Easter if earlier) to 31st October each year.

April, May, September & October

Tuesday - Friday: 2pm to 4.30pm
Saturday: 11am - 4.30pm
Sunday: 12 noon - 4pm

June, July & August

Tuesday - Saturday: 11am - 4.30pm
Sunday: 12 noon - 4pm

Closed Mondays except Bank Holidays & for group visits.

Adults: £3.00

Concessions (students and 60+) & Children: £2.00

Family Ticket (2 adults and 2 children): £9.00

Wheelchair users: free (donation welcome)

Payment by cash or cheque only.  We regret we cannot process cards.

Access

The museum is wheelchair accessible on the ground floors of the main building, stable block and in the boatyard.  The toilet is not wheelchair accessible but there is a radar toilet, within 100 metres, at the Town Hall.  It is open when the Town Hall is open.

A tablet computer on the ground floor enables those with limited mobility to access the quizzes, coalfield films, displays on Hooden horses and shops in the Upper Gallery and the film about Deal and Dunkirk in the Maritime Gallery.

Amenities

We have a small shop which sells postcards, cards, books about the history of Deal, and souvenirs.  We sell teas, coffees and biscuits which can be enjoyed in the Boatyard in fine weather. We are dog friendly.
