Help Us To Record Our History

As a museum, we need to look forward as well as to the past.  We are concerned that the history of Deal, Walmer and district continues to be recorded so that future generations can find out what has happened in the area and be fascinated by peoples’ stories. We believe history is about everyone, not just the “famous.”

We welcome contributions from everyone who lives or has lived or stayed in Deal and the surrounding area.

We are currently focusing on three aspects:

1. The Royal Marines, Wrens and others who were involved in the Deal Barracks and on local peoples’ memories of the times the Royal Marines were stationed here.

2. The Goodwin Sands plus their impact on Deal.

3. Seaside holidays in Deal in the 20th century.
